'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - View from Opposition Manager

Rotherham United beat Hereford one-nil at Edgar Street yesterday and the Bulls Manager, Simon Davey hadn't a good word to say for Referee, Steve Rushdon.

Speaking to BBC Hereford and Worcester after the defeat yesterday, the ex-Barnsley Manager said, 'The referee had three major decisions to get right yesterday and he's got them all wrong.

''We've had three penalty decisions gone against us yet again and sometimes you just sit and think, where are these decisions coming from.'

Davey also thought his side were the better team in the second half saying, 'I thought there was only one team in it in the second half and everyone got a pat on the back for the passion and endeavour they showed.

'I thought we created chances but couldn't put the ball in the back of the net and they (Rotherham) had one chance and scored it.

'As soon as they scored the goal I mentioned to the referee that they were going to try and slow the game down but it wasn't until twenty-five/thirty minutes into the second half that he's booked somebody for time wasting. With the multi-ball system that should never happen.

'Rotherham didn't come here and play us off the park - they got a goal and shut up shop.'

I have to agree, Hereford were the better side in the second half. But surely that's what we are supposed to do when away from home, score and make sure the opposition doesn't

...and, at the end of the game, it's not how you play, it's the most goals scored, that wins the match!

3pts is the only concern we should have and not how slow we play so Davey is just trying to bail himself out of the mess they are in
