RUFC - Moore 'Warney is a model pro'

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore has nothing but praise for his player/coach, Paul Warne and says he should be an example to other players.

Speaking to Les Payne of The Star, Moore said, 'He`s a model pro. The way he looks after himself, the way he keeps himself fit and his dedication is all outstanding.`

Thirty-seven year old Warney will be pleased to hear his Manager say this about him because he was less than happy with Ronnie Moore when he didn`t get a game at Peterborough in the Carling Cup recently admitting that he was furious. 'I didn`t speak or look at him,` the former Oldham player said. 'I still went in and did my job professionally for the lads but I was angry and thought that in view of pre-season and in training, I deserved to play.`

But Warney did get his chance up front against Hereford after Tom Elliott declared himself unfit to play, and he ran around like a twenty-year old as well as scoring the winning goal, prompting Moore to say, 'Tom Elliott cried off with an injury again and so we decided to put Paul Warne in and Warney`s worked his socks off. Tom Elliott should look at the DVD and see how a thirty-seven year old runs about and chases things.`
