RUFC - Jeri has month to prove himself

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore says that trialist, Jeremiah Ani has to prove himself.

The twenty-five year old Nigerian born striker had played for the Millers on trial against Tamworth in a pre-season friendly and there were good reports from people watching him and Moore decided to give him a month`s trial.

'Jeri had the chance to go and play in Greece but turned it down because he wants to play in England,` Moore told The Advertiser.

'He did well for us for the forty-five minutes he played against Tamworth but he wanted a twelve month deal and I couldn`t give him that on the basis of just forty-five minutes in a pre-season friendly.

'He needs to do better than he did on Tuesday but he has a month to prove himself and if we think he`s fine then we`ll give him the twelve months.`

Jeri played just over an hour of the game against Lincoln City on Tuesday in the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy win but Moore said, after the game, that he was disappointed with the forward`s movements.

Jeri is a much travelled player for his twenty-five years having played for Adamawa United, Naxxar Lions, Valetta FC, Kercem Ajax, Estrela Amadora, Gondomar SC, Sichuan Guancheng, RoPS.
