'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Mullins Happy to be Back Playing

Rotherham United defender, Johnny Mullins is looking forward to making his League debut with the Millers but admitted to being 'tired` after his first full ninety minutes on Tuesday night.

Speaking to MillersPlayer the twenty-four year old said, 'I enjoyed it but I was very tired.

'There`s stuff I have to learn quickly playing with a new back four but I`m just happy to be out there playing football again.

'I enjoy playing with Lawsey (Nicky Law) and I know the gaffer says I have to learn to play with him a bit better which I have because sometimes I go forward when it`s not on. But the more I play with him the better it will become. He`s a top player and I`ll enjoy playing with him.

Johnny picked up a calf injury more or less straight after joining the Millers in the summer but he says that it was fine after the game. 'Missing all pre-season puts me behind the rest of the lads fitness wise but the games coming thick and fast will get my fitness levels up but I`ve got to be realistic and realise I`ve got to build my way into the team and not try to do too much too quickly.

'I`m just happy to be playing with Jason Taylor,` the former Stockport player quipped as Jaybo heckled him.

Talking about the game at Shrewsbury today, Johnny said, 'They`ve started really well and they had a good result in mid-week so they will be bringing that confidence into Saturday but we are very confident that we can go down there and get the points.`
