'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Alfie talks put on hold

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore will now sit down and talk to Adam Le Fondre AFTER today's game with Shrewsbury.

Speaking to Ian Appleyard of The Yorkshire Post, Moore said, 'His (Le Fondre) agent has gone public saying that he wants a new contract so when this game is out of the way I am going to sit down and listen to Alfie's views because, at the moment, I don't know how he's feeling or what he's looking for in wages.'

With all Millers' eyes on Alfie on Tuesday during the last day of the transfer deadline, it was a sigh of relief that we all breathed out at 6.00pm when it closed.

Before Tuesday, both Ronnie Moore and Chairman, Tony Stewart had put a price on Alfie's head of around £3m although, in the interview today, that seems to have gone down a little with Moore saying, 'It doesn't look like anyone will pay £3m but if someone offered £1.1m we would seriously have to think about the situation because that is still big money and could help re-establish this football club. We don't want to sell him but everyone has a price.'
