'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Moore 'it's going to be a cracking game'

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore is looking forward to what he thinks will be a fantastic game of football on Saturday against Chesterfield at Don Valley.

Speaking to MillersPlayer, Moore said, 'Chesterfield are stronger than they were last season and there is a lot of quality in the team. It won`t be an easy game but I`m sure John Sheridan is telling his players that it won`t be easy coming to us too.

'I think it`s going to be a cracking game and what you need is for your better players to perform on the day. We`ve both got decent players and if they all play to their ability then it`s going to be a cracking game.

'Looking at the strikers on show on Saturday there`s got to be goals and it`s just a matter of us getting more than them. I think it will be tight in and around the areas but the penalty box is where things are going to be tested.

'We handled Morgan quite well last season when we had Nick Fenton at right-back. We`ve got Johnny Mullin there now and Tom Newey and Newey is fit while Mullins is getting there with his fitness and when he`s at full strength he`s as quick as anybody. And we`ve got to handle Davies to the best of our ability because he will get behind us a couple of times but both centre-backs aren`t slow but I wouldn`t say they had electric pace but I`ve told them that there is no way we are going to be playing on the edge of our box. Woggy`s got to be our extra defender there because if we sit on the edge of our box and invite them on then we`ll be in trouble.

'Our attacking play this season has been fantastic and we are leading goal scorers in this division and we do like going forward. We`re a bit different from last season and we are getting goals from different areas but we were nice and tight at the back last year where as this year there are four different defenders and we are taking just a bit longer to get to know each other and we`ve hung in there and won games without playing particularly well at the back

'We were a little bit fortunate last year to take the six points. I didn`t see the first game but Breck (John Breckin) was here then and I`ve spoken to him since about it and he said Woggy (Andy Warrington) has made two or three brilliant saves in that game when it was one-one and we`ve gone on and won three-one and the one at Saltergate could have gone either way and it was a great time for us to score on the ninety-fourth minute and I`ll settle for that again on Saturday.`

'...we were nice and tight at the back last year...' - that would be why he came out and blamed the defence for everything last season then
