'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Alfie on his goal

Rotherham United striker, Adam Le Fondre scored a brilliant goal to win the game for the Millers against Chesterfield at Don Valley last Saturday.

His Manager, Ronnie Moore proclaimed him a genius, saying no one else on the pitch could have got the ball in.

It was a great goal that looked like it had come out of nothing which we found out later had actually come from an idea from Reserve Coach, Andy Liddell and started with a Johnny Mullins throw-in.

Speaking to The Advertiser, Alfie said, 'It`s a training ground routine that paid off. The ball was a little bit too far for my left foot but I just managed to get the outside of my right foot on it and loft the ball in.`

Well, from where I was sat it looked a cracker and once it had left Alfie`s boot there was only one place it was going.

It is always nice when you can score a special. Adam is gaining quite a reputation for himself at the moment which while good for the now will bring other clubs looking.

We hope to keep him a bit longer!
