'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Alfie wants to go up automatic

Rotherham United striker, Adam Le Fondre says, although he is a bit disappointed that no one from a higher league has been in for him, he is happy to play his heart out for the Millers.

'I'm paid to play my heart out for Rotherham and that's what I'll do. I'm happy here and hopefully we will be in a higher division next season.'

Speaking to the Football League's Official Site, the Millers' fans favourite said he was disappointed how last season had ended, losing at Wembley. 'I'd already lost in a Play-Off with Rochdale so to go through it again was dire. And, although it would be nice to get promoted through the play-offs, give me automatic every time. We're third in the league at the moment and if I was offered a third place finish right now I'd take it like a shot.'

Speaking about this season, the former Stockport and Rochdale striker said, 'We've been playing well and playing it more through the midfield than last season, which is helping my game and means I can drop a bit deeper to collect the ball, turn and run at defences - and they don't like that.

'I came into the season with a target of a bare minimum of twenty goals but getting a fair few so early, I've revised my target and hopefully I can get around the same number as last year and that can help us get into League One.'
