'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Cress pre Stanley

Rotherham United skipper, Ryan Cresswell thought the team did well at times against Stevenage last weekend, though said it was disappointing for the fans to watch - and being a spectator himself at Don Valley last weekend, he would know that it wasn't a good game for us fans.

Speaking to MillersPlayer, the twenty-two year old said, 'It was a point and not a loss but we need to turn the draws into wins. And, when we are winning one-nil we really need to shut the game down but we've drawn our last three games and we're still third which shows what a tight league it is.

'I don't think it will be like last year when Rochdale got all their points in the bag nice and early and then seemed to have a dip in form at the end. Every team goes through a bad patch and hopefully we can get enough points in the bag before we go through ours and then we can pick ourselves up during and after that.'

Going on to talk about this weekends game at Accrington, Ryan said, 'It's not a nice place to go but as long as you set your mind frame right then you get on with it. It's just another game and we need to go there looking for three points.

After Stanley won seven-four recently, Ryan said, 'Hopefully we can go there and keep them at bay and yes they are capable of scoring but they are also capable of conceding too. But they are an attacking threat and they are good from set pieces and we need to deal with that. They're a hard working side and every player gives one hundred and ten per cent every game but hopefully we can go there and be one better.
We've got Alfie (Adam Le Fondre) and if we give him a chance he will score so let's hope we give him lots of chances.'
