RUFC - Holden 'surprised' at re-call

Rotherham United loanee, defender, Dean Holden was recalled to Shrewsbury Town this week and admits to being surprised.

The thirty-one year old joined the Millers in August from Shrewsbury, initially for a month which stretched to three months and he was due to stay until the end of this month but Shrews boss, Graham Turner, has some injury worries ahead of their game with Chesterfield at the weekend and recalled Holden.

Speaking to Shrewsbury's Official Site, the former Oldham and Peterborough player said, 'It was a phone call out of the blue when the gaffer phoned and I didn't realise it was him and he joked had I forgotten him already!

'It's good to be back at Shrewsbury and I'll be pushing for a first team place against Chesterfield and I'll be putting one hundred per cent in at training. When a club is doing well and at the top of the table everyone wants to be part of that first eleven.'

When he left, the Millers Chief Operating Officer, Paul Douglas told the Millers Official Site, 'Dean has been a model professional throughout his stay with Rotherham United and we wish him well for the rest of the season.'

While with the Millers, Dean made seven appearances in both cup and league competitions.
