'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Taylor 'I'm ready to go'

Rotherham United striker, Ryan Taylor says that he is 'ready to go' if he's needed, after getting his fitness back from the break he suffered in pre-season.

Speaking to MillersPlayer this week, the twenty-two year old said, 'I've had two ninety minutes under my belt in the Reserves recently and I'm ready to go.

'I've got to fight with Popey (Tom Pope) for the place because he's done really well since he got back in but hopefully I can do well when I'm called upon and get back into the team.

'Since I've been injured, I've been in the gym every day working on my strength and fitness and I'm the fittest I've been and the strongest I've been so I think I'm ready to get in there and make an impact. A lot of that is down to Lids (Andy Liddle) who has done a lot with me since I've been injured. We've been doing track work before and after training which has helped me.'

Asked about the game last week at Accrington, which he watched most of from the substitutes bench, coming on for the last ten minutes, he said, 'I thought the first half was a bit scrappy but we did well to get three points in the end and the come back was unbelievable. I came on and hit the inside of the post that I thought was in but hopefully I'll get on on Saturday and I might get a goal. It will be a tough game against Wycombe and I think we'll do well if we grab the three points.

'We seem to be doing better away from home and I don't think we've really got started yet at Don Valley. The pitch is definitely a lot better this year and I think the results will come.

'We need people to keep coming through the gates and get a higher attendance but the support has been great so far.'
