RUFC - Moore on Wycombe's Penalty

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore, as well as most of the three thousand six hundred spectators, didn't think that Referee, Peter Quinn was correct in giving the penalty for Wycombe.

Speaking to MillersPlayer Moore said, ''How the hell he can give a penalty there well, I just think he was trying to even things up to be honest. The linesman, who`s in a better position that the referee, says he didn`t think it was and if the referee is that confident why does he go and ask the linesman? He was never going to change his mind and he just set himself a problem instead of just giving the penalty and that`s it I think he must have had some doubt about it. The linesman said in his opinion 'it wasn`t a penalty` and the referee said 'well I was in a better spot and I think it is`. And he was miles away from it.

'Johnny Mullins knew he shouldn`t have gone to ground in the first place and given the opportunity, that was the thing, but he`s made a clean tackle and the 'keeper swears blind it wasn`t a penalty and from where I was I don`t think it was a penalty.`

I didn't think it was a penalty either. Mullins never touched him, he just slipped over. But, I suppose, what goes around comes around
