RUFC - Alfie wants to keep scoring

Rotherham United striker, Adam Le Fondre was pleased to go top of the League Two scoring league after his two goals on Saturday against Wycombe at Don Valley but was disappointed with the result.

Speaking to MillersPlayer after the game, the twenty-three year old said, after finding out the was actually top scorer in ALL the English Leagues 'It`s an early part of the season and I`ve got to keep going.

'I started last season really well but not as well as this one and hopefully, form and injury permitting, I can keep it up. I just want to keep playing week in, week out and scoring goals. I never seem to get those goals where it`s hit a defender and it`s come to me a yard out. We always seem to have to go and break teams down. If I get one of them it will be the best goal I score, because I love those sorts of goals.

'I love playing for Rotherham. I`m scoring goals every week so who wouldn`t want to keep that? It`s only an hour away from where I live, though I do have Jaybo (Jason Taylor) and Ashy (Luke Ashworth) in the car with me!`

Asked about the penalty decision for Wycombe Alfie said, 'We were all in the same position as the ref and we could see clearly that Mulls (Johnny Mullins) had won the ball clearly and even the lino said to us 'he`s won the ball and it`s not a penalty. But, if the ref wants to say it`s a penalty nothing can change his mind and it`s something we have to live with.`

It isn't a bad idea for a striker to want to keep striking. Especially while the goals are being banged in with a degree of consistency.
