'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Warney on the latest loanee

Rotherham United midfielder/striker/coach/fitness maniac, Paul Warne thinks that the signing, on loan, of Mark Randall from Arsenal is a bit of a coup, although he was really hoping it was Cesc Fabregas!

Speaking to MillersPlayer, the thirty-seven year old said, 'The gaffer watched Randall a few weeks ago, and, in fairness, when the gaffer told me he'd been to see him play in a Reserve game the other week I said, 'sober up! What's the point you going to watch Arsenal play there is no way they are going to come here.' But, he's obviously heard about my coaching and wanted to come and be part of it, which is good! He wants to learn football from all different avenues and it's good that he's come to learn from the crème de la crème!'

After working with the twenty-one year old Warney said, 'He looks a decent footballer but to be honest I was a bit nervous around him. I didn't want to do any weights in case he said, 'oh we don't do that at Arsenal'. But, he seems a nice kid and there's no airs and graces with him and he definitely fits the ball player that the gaffer's been looking for. But, it's not good having a ball player in there unless you give him the ball so it's hoped that everyone is playing to the same tune and then it should be good.'
