RUFC - Latest Injury Update

Rotherham United have a few injury niggles ahead of the game with Southend tomorrow and Physio, Denis Circuit told MillersPlayer the latest news.

'Dale Tonge is having an X-ray on his injured ankle to check on the healing process. Then we will have a meeting with the consultant and hopefully he`ll be in a position to start some light running next week. Looking at his last X-ray, it had healed quicker and better than all the other times he injured it. He`s been working really hard in the gym and pool and he`s got a good level of fitness which we can improve next week if we get the go-ahead to start jogging. He feels great and isn`t in any pain which is a good sign.

'We are working with Grant Darley on his fitness and we go back on the fifth November and hopefully he`ll be able to start training and have contact. At the moment he`s about two weeks away from training non-contact which means he can join in on the small games with no contact but maybe three weeks from now that will change.

'Nick Fenton is running and not feeling any discomfort and we are going to step his work up on Monday. We don`t want to rush him back and we`ll take it steady because it doesn`t make sense to try and cut any corners. We will just be patient and hope he comes through it this time. Last time it was his left calf and he broke down twice and we don`t want that to happen again but, at the moment, he`s one hundred per cent pain free.`
