'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Moore on injuries, players and officials

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore talks to Radio Sheffield about what he needs, injuries and the referee.

Starting with Mark Randall who only lasted twenty minutes of his debut before going off injured, Moore said, 'We don't know how he is yet. He's struggling with his shoulder, it's come up straight away and all the tissue is swollen and he'll have to have an X-ray and take it from there.'

Talking about the Referee, Phil Crossley, who, in my opinion, could have stopped some of the terrible tackles that was going in, much earlier by producing a yellow card or two in the first half an hour, Moore said, 'I thought, when you take a free-kick and someone isn't ten yards back and it hits him, that that was a yellow card. And they've done it how many times and got away with it? But, I'm not blaming the referee for the defeat. We lost because we didn't have passion or pride to wear the shirt of Rotherham United.

'I thought Ryan Taylor had a good game for us, moved about and looked like he'd overcome that injury and won or two headers.'

Exodus Geohaghon played his last game for the Millers today, after being on loan for the time allowed by the Football League ruling and Moore said, about the rule that says he can't be signed again straight away, 'It's a wrong rule. They will probably say that if you make your mind up earlier then it wouldn't matter but you've got to have a look at players before you buy, which is why you have them on loan. The problem is he's had ninety-three days and it's a stupid rule because he goes back now (to Peterborough) and someone else can take him on loan. We can't have him and there's no doubt that we need a centre-back and I'm hopeful something will develop on Monday.

'Ryan Cresswell has missed again today. His back is still stiff and he's not shown much improvement so, at this present time, we've only got Luke (Ashworth) and Fenners (Nick Fenton). Jamie Green has got a virus so he couldn't travel, Brogan's coming back to a little bit of fitness but I see him more as a left-winger or left-sided midfield player. I know our full-backs have got quality but we tried to force things today and it didn't happen so we are a bit short in cover there.'

Although I was at the other side of the pitch, the foul on Randall looked to be on the deliberate side to me
