'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Cress wants fans to get behind them

Rotherham United skipper, Ryan Cresswell says that the Millers fans can help the side.

Asking for the fans to be a bit more patient at the moment, the twenty-two year old spoke to David Beddows of The Advertiser after the lowest league crowd for almost eighteen months travelled to Don Valley on Tuesday night. 'Obviously the fans weren`t happy the other night,` Cress said, 'but we need them to get behind us and give us that extra push. I know we should have it ourselves but don`t have it every game and you need the fans there supporting you and giving you a lift.

Speaking about Tuesday`s game, the former Sheffield United defender said, 'We didn`t have a high enough tempo in the final third. We knew what their game plan would be and we tried to play out from the back and work from there. Credit to Alfie (Adam Le Fondre) because he got us out of trouble again but if there`d been a bit more commitment to get on the end of things then we would have been better off.

'We`re having a blip but we have the players to get us out of it. The lads aren`t worried and the gaffer shouldn`t be worried.`

Did you go Tuesday night? Are you going tomorrow? If not, why not?
