'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Moore thinks tempo is key to winning

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore cited 'winning the game` as one of his major problems ahead of the FA Cup tie at Don Valley against York City.

Speaking to MillersPlayer, Moore said, 'At the moment the tempo isn`t right for us at Don Valley. We`ve got to play at a higher tempo and be patient but patience in football is a rare word. Fans have to be patient and players have to be patient but if we play at a tempo like we played the other day then we aren`t going to break teams down. We get to the attacking third and the movement`s not good enough and there aren`t enough crosses into the box. It was only when we went a goal down that the players thought 'oh, we`ve got to go for it now` and it was like everyone`s relieved and the full backs join in, wingers cross balls and we get the chance of the goal and maybe pinch another but that`s the tempo we`ve got to start at and if we don`t then we certainly won`t be in the top three.

'If we can beat Chesterfield then we certainly should be beating Macclesfield. But, it`s inconsistency. Maybe we`re lacking a bit of pace in the right areas which is something we hope to put right for the next home game.`
