RUFC - Brogan to start tonight?

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore has hinted that Stephen Brogan might start tonight`s game against Huddersfield in the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy.

The Millers fans have made no secret that they`d like to see the Rotherham born defender/midfielder back in the starting eleven and, speaking to MillersPlayer, Moore said, 'He`s missed forty-two training days this season which is a long time. So, how do you keep your fitness, how do you get your fitness? He thinks he`s a fit as he was when pre-season started, but he`s not.

'You cannot miss forty-two days training and expect to be at the same level as the other lads. In the meantime he`s doing extra work, he`s doing extra training and he`s hungry and he wants to play. And he might get his opportunity in the match tonight. I don`t see Brogan as being a left-back now, if he`s going to play it will be wide left or just inside left side of midfield.`

Affectionately known as Paddy to most Millers fans, the twenty-two year old is a product of the Rotherham United Youth Academy and made his full debut on New Years Eve 2006. Getting many Man of the Match awards, including Vital Rotherham`s Young Player of the Season, it was thought that the Millers would be hard pressed to hold onto this young man. Unfortunately, for Stephen and Rotherham United, he suffered an horrific double fracture of his leg in 2008 during a game and was subsequently out for fourteen months. Since then he has had a few niggles and has been playing in the Reserves - and, from onlookers has been playing well, although has only made one first team start this season, which was against Peterborough in the League Cup.

It would be great for him and the fans if he does get a start tonight.
