RUFC - Reserves lose at Walsall

Rotherham United`s second string, although it was really the third string, were well beaten at Walsall yesterday afternoon.

The Saddlers went ahead on ten minutes when Alex Nicholls slotted the ball past Danny Hancock, followed five minutes later by a goal from George Bowerman. On twenty-four minutes some good work in the middle of the park ended when Will Grigg getting the home side`s third goal and Bowerman got his second and Walsall`s fourth five minutes from half-time.

The Millers` spirit seem to have lifted at the start of the second half but within ten minutes Harry Lord had fouled Grigg in the penalty area and up stepped Alex Nichols to make it five-nil. On the hour mark Sean Geddes walked though the Millers` defence and put in a good pass for Nicholls who scored his hat-trick. The scoring was completed eight minutes later when Aaron Forde gave Hancock no chance and got the seventh.
