RUFC - Cress out, Mullins in?

RUFC - Cress out, Mullins in?

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore was asked by MillersPlayer about skipper, Ryan Cresswell, who didn't reappear for the second half of the game against Oxford on Saturday, due to a back spasm.

Moore said, 'His back has stiffened up after a game but that's the first time it's happened during a game. We had him looked at yesterday and the masseurs been into him and the chiropractor has had a go at him but we are doubtful that he'll be able to play at York, which, of course, opens the door for young Luke (Ashworth). Ryan will probably need x-rays and scans to make sure he's not got a disc problem but the big thing is that it's all muscle and when it is muscle then you've got half a chance but it is a worry.'

There was, however some good news regarding Johnny Mullins, who it was thought would be out for two to four weeks, after injuring his calf against Huddersfield last week. 'He's made an unbelievable recovery,' Moore said. 'He trained for fifteen minutes yesterday and it's tightened up a little bit so we've just got to wait and see. If he's not fit to play then we have got a problem because if Cress isn't fit then we've a new face in there at centre-half and we haven't really got a recognised right-back although, at Tranmere Danny Harrison did that job for me, and I'm quite sure he'd be capable of doing it.'

Sounds like you have a big injury crisis brewing. Hope it gets sorted out soon and you can get back on track.

I don't think we've actually had a fully fit squad since August! Tbh, the replay was that extra game we could have done without - trying to get people fit.
