Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore thought his team should have been out of sight going into the dressing room at half-time.
But, as we know, they weren`t and, even though Moore said he praised them at half-time and told them to carry on doing what they had been doing, York wanted to go through to the next round of the FA Cup more than we did.
I personally thought it was a terrible second half by the Millers who didn`t seem to be able to string two passes together before a City player took the ball from them and really thought changes should have been made a lot earlier than they were.
Speaking to Radio Sheffield after the three-nil defeat to non-league side, York City, Moore said, 'You cannot have the chances we had first half and not get anything and then come out and perform the way we did second half. I gave them a bit of praise at half-time and told them that sooner or later we were creating enough chances that one of them is going to go in and we started so slow that they`ve (York) had a couple of chances in the first five minutes.
'And the first goal was an awful goal. You can`t let their lad turn in the box like that and cross a ball. And it was a killer because it lifted them and our lads` heads went down. And the third goal was exactly the same, it`s into feet, he`s turned and put it into the back of the net.
'It`s the worst defending I`ve seen for a long, long time. Someone has got to take responsibility in there. We had so many blocks in the first half against them but the second half we`ve given them half a yard and they`ve put the ball in. It`s been our problem all season, poor defending, individual errors, allowing people to turn in the box and it`s criminal.
'We`ve had to change before the game because of Cress`s back (Ryan Cresswell) and Luke (Ashworth) had a great first half then second half he`s been battered, absolutely smashed all over the place. And we couldn`t cope with the lad Rankine and for a professional football player playing centre-back you`ve got to stop the lad from playing, which I thought we did that, no problem first half but in the second half the way we got caught for the penalty, well, we`re lucky he wasn`t sent off as well. But, you`ve got to be strong as a centre-half and we weren`t strong when we were defending.
'We lost our skipper before the game and we lost our 'keeper too, which didn`t help, though I think young Jamie (Annerson) has come in and done ever so well and we couldn`t fault him for anything.
'I don`t think anybody did anything wrong first half but when you`ve had as much of the play in the first half as we had but don`t put the knife in then you get found out. It`s a game of ninety minutes not forty-five.`
