'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Moore on Cress

Rotherham United skipper, Ryan Cresswell was due to play last night, after coming off at half-time against Oxford last Saturday with a back problem.

Unfortunately for the twenty-two year old, and for the Rotherham team, he broke down last night in the pre-match warm up, holding his back and looking very distressed.

Speaking after the three-nil loss to York City, Manager, Ronnie Moore told Radio Sheffield that it was a worry.

'It`s a nightmare.

'He trained yesterday (Tuesday) and it stiffened up again today and unfortunately after the warm-up he`s not been able to continue. It`s a worry because we don`t know what it is. It`s a muscle spasm but it`s like rock in the end and he can`t move his back.

'It`s a worry considering we`ve only got two centre-backs, a big worry.`

It`s a big worry for Millers fans too. I was surprised when I was told that Ryan was to be included in the team, although he`d trained, and was wondering if it was too soon. I really hope they get to the bottom of what`s causing him to have these back spasms because, as we proved last night, we really need him in there.
