RUFC - Mullen has his say on York

Rotherham United Assistant Manager, Jimmy Mullen had his say today about the game at York on Wednesday.

Speaking to MillersPlayer, Mullen said, 'The disappointment in the dressing room was there for all to see at the end of the game. You could have heard a penny drop for quite a while afterwards. And rightly so.

'Sitting there at half-time it was quite the opposite. Everybody was boisterous and we'd performed very, very well and anybody at the game will have realised we should have been two or three goals in the clear by half-time and probably in the next round. But, as we all saw it was disappointing in the second half.

'Ryan Taylor is getting very close to being back to his best if the performance on Wednesday was anything to go by. The way he set the three chances up for Stephen Brogan and Alfie (Adam Le Fondre) showed the quality that he's got. I think, you'd probably say, that Ryan Taylor and Alfie, on current form, are probably our best pairing up front at the moment.'

Jimmy was asked about Marcus Marshall, and said, 'Marcus is one of those players, as he showed against Oxford, that on his day he can be unplayable. But sometimes, certainly in the second half against York, he can be frustrating. But, that's because he's still learning the game and still getting to grips being a regular in the team. I'm sure, once he gets a run in the team and his confidence is coming back he will be a real handful.'
