'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Snow Go for Training

Rotherham United Assistant Manager, Jimmy Mullen spoke about why training was cancelled today.

Speaking to MillersPlayer as the snow came down, Mullen said, 'It's not the best preparation but it's daft bringing lads in over the likes of Woodhead Pass when you've no where to train.

'It actually looks like it's going to be an issue for the rest of the week but we are looking at a couple of things to try and get something sorted out before tomorrow morning and hopefully we can get somewhere where we can go indoors and get some work done.

Talking about Roundwood, where the team usually trains, Mullen said, 'I went up and had a look yesterday afternoon and there's about four inches of snow on the pitches we use and we've had overnight snow again so I would think it will be impossible to get on them tomorrow.

'We're waiting for replies to one or two phone calls we've made to other clubs for help and hopefully we'll be able to get somewhere indoors and get some work done.'

It was commented that Jimmy had managed to get in and laughing he said, 'I've got a record of being unstoppable when it comes to travelling to places and hopefully that will continue.'

a good idea as you dont want your first team players hurt , there better off in the gym .

Ahh, yes Kimbo, but, at this present time, we don't have a gym! We are relying on local clubs to help us out - though I presume they will be wanting to use their gyms themselves
