RUFC - Mullen gives an injury update

Rotherham United Assistant Manager, Jimmy Mullen is hoping that they are getting to the bottom of skipper, Ryan Cresswell`s back problem.

Speaking to MillersPlayer yesterday, Mullen said, 'Ryan has seen a specialist on more than one occasion and, if the weather had been fit, he`d have trained today.

'Not having a game last weekend gave Nick Fenton a few extra days. He`ll be the first to admit that he`s no spring chicken any more and the longer he has to rest the better. But, he`s a committed lad who hates missing training and hates missing games.

'Mark Bradley had a little bit of a problem with his back, which he received at Crewe, but it`s got better day by day and hopefully he`ll be OK for training.`

Dale Tonge who`s been out injured since the back end of last season, has joined in training and Jimmy said he got a round of applause from the lads when he first went back training. 'He`s a great lad,` Jimmy said, 'and the fact that he`s had to come back a second time from the same injury he`s shown a lot of character and a lot of spirit. We just need to get some training inside him and some Reserve games in so I think he`ll be at least two or three weeks away from the first team.`

Asked about 'keeper, Andy Warrington who has been away from the club with a personal family problem, Jimmy said, 'Things are looking better. Andy`s wife and baby are home now but there are still a few problems. But, Andy is back in training and back to his bubbly self and hopefully, in a short space of time, there will be news that the baby is OK.`
Ed Note - I think we all concur with that and send Andy and his family all our best wishes
