'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Moore 'we need to be brighter'

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore is asking his side to start defending from the front and keep more clean sheets.

Throughout November the Millers kept just two clean sheets - the first at Don Valley in the FA Cup game with York City and then at Crewe in the league - in all league and cup competitions this season the team have actually kept seven clean sheets, which, coincidently, is exactly the same as last year at this stage of the season.

Speaking to Dom Howson of The Star, Moore said, 'Defending starts at the front and the two lads who play there have to work their socks off. The midfield have to close people down and we have to hold a high lane.

Talking about the home form, where the Millers have conceded seventeen goals in ten games, Moore said, 'It was the home form that cost us last season, but we`re not looking for excuses, we know we`ve conceded a lot of goals and we have to make sure that we turn it around.

'We need to be brighter and take quicker throw-ins, corners and free-kicks and we have to move the ball quicker and put the opposition on the back foot. I`m sure it will come, it`s just a matter of perseverance.

'We have to get it right over the Christmas period to get back into the top three.`
