RUFC - Moore upbeat after win

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore was happy with the result today against Aldershot, though upset over the injury to his skipper, Ryan Cresswell, that is going to keep him out for around three months.

After the one-nil win, thanks to an Adam Le Fondre strike in the first half, Moore told Radio Sheffield, 'Ryan`s injury is bad - his collar bone is broken and displaced and it looks like it will need a plate on it. And, how it happened was nothing really, the lads just tugged him and gone over on top of him and his weight has caused the break.`

Going on to talk about the win, Moore said, 'After the first ten minutes, which weren`t brilliant, I thought we totally dominated the game. Woggy (Andy Warrington) has made a fantastic save just after half-time - I mean, from where I was it looked in and I couldn`t see Woggy getting to it and it was an absolutely superb save at a crucial time for us. And, I thought we defended well when we had to today and a clean sheet is a bonus.`

Talking about the fans, who helped clear the snow off the pitch at Don Valley this week, Moore said, 'It was a big bonus for us. We wanted the game on there was no way that we didn`t want this game to be played. They`ve come down with the shovels and the wheelbarrows and they`ve shifted the snow off there and it`s paid for us today.

'And, it was a fantastic performance today. The crowd got behind us and it`s the first time for a long time that we haven`t been booed off at half-time and at the end. I thought we got in at them and squeezed their faces today and made it difficult for them to play and the crowd want more of that and if we continue to play and press like that then we`ll win a lot more games and by a lot more than one-nil. That`s probably the biggest one-nil hammering, Aldershot have had for a long time.`
