RUFC - Marcus gaining in confidence

Rotherham United winger, Marcus Marshall has been receiving praise from his Manager and making the Millers fans sit up and take notice of him over the last few weeks, and, on Saturday, put in yet another Man of the Match performance in the win over Aldershot.

Speaking to MillersPlayer after the game, the twenty-one year old said, 'I feel confident at the moment and I know the manager has confidence in me.

'It was difficult not getting into the team at the start of the season but I'd got people telling me to keep going and the chance would come. I was playing well in the Reserves and when I got my chance to move up I had to take it.'

Talking about the one-nil win, the former Blackburn player said, 'It was a deserved victory and we kept a clean sheet with Woggy (Andy Warrington) pulling off a great save. We could have done with a few more goals but we'll take three points.'

Talking about Adam Le Fondre's goal, Marcus said, 'Johnny Mullins put in a great challenge to put me through and then my only thought was to get it across the goal and, Alfie being a poacher, was there and bang.'

Praising Andy Liddell and Paul Warne, Marcus said, 'Lids has been doing a lot of work with me after training and telling me to be positive and I think that's helping. Him and Warney have done a lot of work with me, especially confidence wise.'
