'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Moore 'Will has bags of ability'

Rotherham United loanee, Will Atkinson told The Advertiser that he was happy to get his debut for the Millers out of the way.

'After a couple of weeks lay off, the most important thing was the win,` the twenty-two year old, who is on loan from Premiership side, Hull City said.

Will made his first start for the Millers in their one-nil win over Aldershot at Don Valley last weekend and though, he admits he didn`t set the place on fire, I didn`t think he did bad.

'It was good to be back playing competitive football in front of a crowd,` he said, 'because my last game was for Hull away at Burnley in October. And, it`s a lot better than playing in the reserves. No one wants to be sat in the stands or on the bench, they want to be out playing first team games on the pitch.`

Millers Manager, Ronnie Moore said after Will`s first start, 'He didn`t get enough of the ball in the first half and I was disappointed in that. But, when he got on it you could see what he`s about. He came inside and always wants it and I think he did alright to say it was his first game for a while. There`s not doubt, he`s got bags of ability.`

Atkinson, who has had loan spells with Port Vale, Mansfield and Rochdale in the past, is with the Millers until the 4th January.

What are your thoughts on Will Atkinson? What do you think about the loan players Ronnie Moore has brought in?
