'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Moore pre Torquay

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore says that Torquay, who the Millers play tomorrow, are a decent side.

Speaking to MillersPlayer Moore said, 'They lost last week but that`s the first time in nine games and you don`t go that long if you haven`t got a good side.

'We know they`re a good side going forward and we`ve got to defend well, which hasn`t been our forte this season. But, not wanting to give excuses, but we`ve never really had a back four, this season so far, that we can call a back four and I think that`s why we`ve conceded a lot of goals here (Don Valley). Last week was the first time for a while that we`d have Mullins at right-back, Cresswell and Fenton together and Newey at left-back.

'We won at Torquay last season, how I don`t know! It was one of them games where we hadn`t had a lot of luck when we went there and then we scored two goals in the last five minutes on an awful day and I`d be quite happy to go down there and not play so well and come away with a two-nil win again.

'This is the start of the Christmas period and our aim is to go over the festive period without conceding a goal and, if we defend well, then I`m sure we`ve got enough going forward. When you look at the games we`ve got - Torquay away, Stockport away and Accrington and Port Vale they are tough games, very tough games. And, if we want to be in the top three they are games we`ve got to win.`
