RUFC - Chairman 'new stadium will turn heads'

Rotherham United Chairman, Tony Stewart told Radio Sheffield that he had had an exciting time this week regarding the new stadium.

'Over the last twelve months we`ve been working with architects and developers which we narrowed down to four six months ago, Mr Stewart said. 'They`ve been putting down designs and specifications and talking to the board for our input on hospitality etc etc and on Monday it was like the X-Factor Finals! We`d got DVD`s to watch, brochures to read and the four developers and architects had an hour and a half to present to the directors their finished article. And, we had some really good presentations starting at half past eight Monday morning going onto six o`clock in the evening. We are really pleased with the four outcomes that have been delivered to us.

'Now, we`ve got to deliberate over Christmas and get that four down to two and then, by the end of January, we will have appointed a builder and an architect.

'I`m dying to show the fans and the people of Rotherham what has been happening behind the scenes regarding the new stadium and I`m sure it will turn heads.`

We know the new stadium is going to be bowl shaped; going to be iconic. But, what do you want from a stadium?
