'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Moore 'players have to watch themselves'

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore says that his team will be ready for a good game against Accrington on Tuesday and won`t have over indulged over the Christmas break.

Speaking to Les Payne of The Star, Moore said that footballers look after themselves these days, which didn`t happen in the past. 'The days when they'd have a big dinner, lashings of brandy sauce on their pudding and then a few mince pies before falling asleep on the settee have more or less long gone,` Moore said. 'Players know they have a game on Boxing Day and know it`s important, even those who know they might not be involved have to watch themselves just in case they are needed.`

As it happens, the Millers aren`t playing today due to a frozen pitch at Stockport`s Edgeley Park but they also have to watch themselves for the game on Tuesday at Don Valley.

'Nobody wants to be a killjoy,` Moore carried on, 'but it`s always best not to overdo it and players have to take into account that they will be training in the lead up to the next game.`
