RUFC - Vale to appeal red card

Rotherham United beat Port Vale five-nil yesterday at Don Valley and they were two up when Vale 'keeper, Stuart Tomlinson was red carded for a foul on the Millers` Marcus Marshall outside the area.

After looking at video footage of the incident Port Vale are to appeal against the sending off as they believe that Tomlinson clearly played the ball.

I have to say, where we were sat, admittedly at the other end of the stand from where the incident took place, we thought the red card was a touch harsh at the time with many people saying a yellow would have sufficed.

I also don`t think that stand in 'keeper, Chris Martin, stood no chance with two of the three goals that went past him after he came on and it`s doubtful Tomlinson would have either.
