RUFC - Atkinson now signed for Rochdale

Rotherham United have failed in their bid to sign Will Atkinson from Hull on loan until the end of the season.

With the club thinking all the paper work had gone through yesterday, it now appears that Rochdale, where Atkinson was on loan last season, came in at the last minute and he has opted to go there instead of staying with the Millers.

Manager, Ronnie Moore told Radio Sheffield that he is gutted.

'Will had done so well with us and I was pleased with his progress,' Moore said.

'We thought he had signed for us but it all fell through at the last minute and I'm gutted. He was going to be a massive part of our team and I'm gutted.

'But, we have to get on with it and get the chief scouts to find us another winger. Kev Ellison can play there but we need to sign a winger with pace to put some pressure on him.

'I've got half a dozen names on a list but I don't really want to dive in without me having a look at them. But, we hope to get someone in for Tuesday.'

Asked if anyone had come in for any of the Millers players, Moore said, 'No one has come in for Alfie (Adam Le Fondre) or Marsh (Marcus Marshall) or any of the other players.'
