RUFC - Millers have good news on striker

Rotherham United have had some good news regarding striker, Ryan Taylor.

The twenty-two year old limped off the pitch on Monday afternoon during the two-nil win over Macclesfield and it was feared that he'd suffered a recurrence of the metatarsal injury that kept him out of the start of the season. But, physio, Denis Circuit told MillersPlayer that there is good news.

'He came in the day after the Macclesfield game and said he felt much better,' Denis said. 'He felt that he could train this week but we thought we'd still get a pre-cautionary x-ray done. We then spoke to the consultant who compared the x-ray to the one done in July and it actually looks stronger than it did then.

'So that's really good news and I'm hoping that Ryan is going to be joining in training tomorrow.'

Asked about other injuries, Denis spoke about Danny Coid saying, 'It's settling down nicely but there is still quite a bit of swelling on his right ankle. He got tackled on his shin and has rocked the joint a little bit and damaged the tendon. We are going to have a scan to make sure there's no bone damage on that but it's whether he has that done here or at Blackpool. He's got a past history with this sort of injury and actually has two screws around this region which is why we want to investigate it to know what we are dealing with.

'Ryan Cresswell is getting better every few days and we go back tomorrow for a follow up consultation. If all goes to plan he should be able to start gym work as soon as possible.'

'Jamie Green, who has had an ankle problem is now fine and has been training and joining in with the games now so he's available for selection. '
