RUFC - Alfie stalls over contract extension

Rotherham United top goal scorer, Adam Le Fondre has told the club that he wants to keep his options open as negotiations between the striker and the club have come to an end without his signing an extension to his contract.

Alfie is contracted to the Millers until the end of next season and Chief Operating Officer, Paul Douglas told David Beddows of The Advertiser that talks between him and the club were 'amicable.`

'While Adam enjoys his football here, he is an ambitious lad,` Mr Douglas said, 'He wants to keep his options open beyond the eighteen months he has left with us and both the Chairman, Tony Stewart and the Manager, Ronnie Moore, respect that.

'We hope to sit down with him again in the summer.`
