RUFC - Alfie happy with Millers

Rotherham United striker, Adam Le Fondre says that although he hasn`t signed a new deal with the club he is still happy here.

Speaking to David Beddows of The Advertiser, the Millers top marksman said, 'I`ve had transfer speculation since the first three months I`ve been here and it`s never really stopped. But, it`s never bothered me and it won`t this week or next week.

'I`ll just carry on playing my game and helping the team. I won`t be signing a new deal but I am happy here.

'I personally think I`ve done good work since I came here and I`d like to see that come to fruition.`

With the transfer market opening up again rumours and speculation have been rife about where Alfie is off too with this scout and that scout being 'seen` in the crowd. But, Manager Ronnie Moore has always insisted that no one has made an offer for the League Two`s top scorer.

When Alfie joined the Millers in August 2009, from Rochdale, he said that he 'needed a new challenge` and that he thought he`d found 'a progressive club that has high ambitions` and 'the perfect club to open a new chapter of my career with.`

If the Millers get promotion at the end of the season it could be a different story and maybe he`ll pen a new deal then. Who knows? Whatever the outcome I think Adam Le Fondre is a young man with a good head on his shoulders and, rightly so, will do what he feels is best for him.
