'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Taylor 'confidence is important'

Rotherham United striker, Ryan Taylor admits that it has taken him a while to develop.

'I've always been confident in my ability,' the twenty-two year old told The Advertiser, 'but it hasn't always shown on the pitch.'

Ryan really seems to have 'grown up' this season and has scored four goals, some crackers amongst them. He spent part of last season on loan with Exeter City who he says brought him on a lot.

'Confidence is important for strikers,' Ryan said. 'As you see with Alfie, once he gets one then they start flooding in and it's like that with most strikers. Goals wise, I haven't got off the mark as quickly as I wanted to at senior level because as I've come through the School of Excellence, Youth team and Reserve team, I've always scored. It's just taken me a while to develop into the first team and now I'm starting to do it, people are starting to see what a good player I am.

'Hopefully a few more goals will go in and if that happens then I'll be flying and the team will be flying.'

Talking about the team, Ryan said, 'I think myself, Marcus Marshall, Nicky Law and Alfie all link up really well. Things are coming together and it's looking good.'
