Branston Training With The Millers.

Oldham defender and former Miller Guy Branston is back in pre season training with the Millers, it is just a stop gap until he gets fixed up with another club, he admits he will not be playing for Oldham next season has they are a long long way off from agreeing on a new contract.

He told Oldhams Chron this

'I wanted to stay, but it is not going to happen. I will be packing my bags because there has been no change to the deal which I was offered and turned down.'

'I have spoken to John Sheridan and he said I was welcome to go back on Monday and start pre-season training while I sort myself out with a new club.'

'But that would not have felt right under the circumstances, so I will train with Rotherham (close to his home) and weigh up my options.'

As Branston would like to stay in a higher division, he has rejected offers from League Two clubs. Despite the defender being linked with Carlisle and Swansea, Guy said his destination still remains unclear.

'There is interest from one or two places, but all I know at the moment is I will not be playing for Oldham next season.

Vital Rotherham wishes Guy all the best.

Any chance he could end up a miller? He was solid in the air last season but cost us alot of goals
laticscarl
" how can he be solid and cost you a lot of goals mate??"
millers4eva
still like to see him back in a millers shirt love his 100%commitment
mvmiller
" oldham reckon he was vastly overpaid"
millers4eva
was good at heading out long balls and crosses so saved us alot in that sense, but very clumsy on the floor with his tackling so cost us a few in that sense. Sheff wed were still payin him a big chunk of wages along with what we were payin him. was basically being greedy
laticscarl
" thanks for that latic mate"
