'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Moore pre Stockport

Rotherham United didn't have a game this weekend and with opponents Stockport County losing at home to Gillingham five-one, Millers Manager, Ronnie Moore says the game is a 'potential banana skin.'

Speaking to Radio Sheffield ahead of this evenings game at Edgeley Park, Moore said, 'It's a little bit like last year. We play the team where everyone expects you to win and we couldn't produce so I'm hoping that, this time, we've got better belief and better set players. The dressing room is brilliant at the moment.

'But, we know that they've got four or five new players, which is a bit like Darlington last year where if we'd have played Darlington before they got their six new players in we'd have probably battered them!

'But, to be fair to Gillingham, they probably got them on a good day with the new players just coming in. They've had a couple of days to learn the funny shape that they play at Stockport now and we are expecting a tough game. There's a new guy in there at this present time, Peter Ward, who knows the club inside out and they play a system that Jim Gannon used to play there but I'll be very surprised if he plays that system against us.

'Sooner or later, Stockport will win at home but, we've just got to go into the game thinking about ourselves. If we play like we played against Port Vale and Macclesfield and Aldershot they will find it very, very difficult to live with us.'

I cannot see anything other than a win by 3 goals for you Millers. In fact this game is all about how many goals you win by. You need 5 to overtake Chesterfields goal difference. Grim times at Edgeley Park - apart from tonight good luck for the rest of the season.

You do seem to be having a bad time of it lately, cropped. But, this is Rotherham United and we are just as likely to lose 5-0 as win 5-0 however well we are playing!
