RUFC - Ryan close to signing new deal

Rotherham United might not be able to get striker, Adam Le Fondre to extend his contract but it seems that their other striker, Ryan Taylor is poised to sign a new deal.

Scoring four goals in the last five games, the Millers have been keen to get him to sign on the dotted line and they are now close to doing that, giving him a new two and a half year deal.

Speaking to David Beddows of The Advertiser, Manager, Ronnie Moore said, 'It would be great for Ryan to stay. He`s a local lad and really blossoming. He came in during the summer and worked really hard and if someone wants a physical battle with him now then he`s more than capable of doing that.

'He`s enjoying his time here and him and Alfie have a little of an understanding at the moment and if both of them click at the same time then it will be raining goals. Not wanting to put any pressure on him, I can`t see why he can`t score twenty or twenty-five goals a season.`

Talking about Ryan`s contract, Moore said, 'There are one or two little things to sort out but I`m hoping something can be done today.`

Wonder what the people who slagged him off all last season (and before) are thinking now....
