'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - View from the Opposition - Southend

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore said that some of the decisions his players made yesterday were 'shocking`, and he was rightly angry after the two-one loss to Southend at Don Valley, unlike his counterpart in the other dugout, Paul Sturrock who was obviously delighted with the result.

Speaking to Blues Player after the win, Sturrock said of Ryan Hall who scored the first goal, 'I`ve been giving Ryan a bit of stick and telling him he doesn`t score enough goals but I thought he played very well today. And then Blair (Sturrock) got the second one so we went in at half time two up. But I knew the second half was going to be a bit torrid but the players responded properly and I`m very, very pleased for everyone of the players who played today.

'Rotherham are a very difficult team to play against and the wind was a factor. I knew the second half would be a bit like the Alamo but it wasn`t as bad as I thought at half-time and we caught them on the break several times and I thought my front two did very well and worked their tails off.

'It`s very exasperating for a manager you know when your team performs so well in the last two away games but then gives silly goals away at home.`
