'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Moore post Crewe

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore, says that his side worked hard today after the three-one win over Crewe at Don Valley.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield, Moore said, 'I thought we played some good stuff at times especially after the rain and wind got up in the second half.

'We're still a bit dubious about the goal they got today - it looked offside and the lads thought it was offside but it was given and I think that was the only way they were going to score.

'I thought we defended well and I'll give my lads a lot of credit because they've worked hard and dug in there, given everything and we couldn't ask any more from them.

'It was a scrap but the right result for us today. That's the work rate we are looking for. I thought the pressing in the first half was fantastic. We closed people down, we kept the ball and when they'd got it we didn't give them a minute on it. You can't do that for ninety minutes and they had a little spell in the game without really threatening - I can't remember Woggy (Andy Warrington) having too many saves but, to be fair, I can't remember their 'keeper making too many saves, except to pick the ball out of the net.

'We've got seven games this month and it's going to be a massive month for us. We lost to Port Vale who are going to be there or thereabouts and we've beaten Crewe who are going to be there or thereabouts and we've got two hell of a games coming up away at Gillingham and Oxford.'
