RUFC - Moore sees red over tackle

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore thought that Gillingham`s Curtis Weston was lucky to still be on the pitch last night after clattering into Millers` 'keeper, Andy Warrington.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield after his side lost three-one last night, Moore said, 'That lad was very, very fortunate to just get a yellow.

'Woggy`s got three big cuts on his face and his head - five in one, three in another and two in the other. And you`re telling me that wasn`t malicious?

'No one wants to see things like that. The ball was in Woggy`s hands and he`s gone for it. I mean, I`ve done it myself when I was playing but not like that. You go for the ball but not when the 'keeper`s got hold of it - once he`s got hold of it you don`t go, simple as that because you know you`re going to do damage.

'Andy Hessenthaler didn`t agree with me. Some of the remarks he said were stupid but I`m not going to get involved in that because it was the heat of the moment, which I can understand, because he was a fiery little player when he played. He came over and said the lad`s only eighteen. What`s that got to do with it? Whether he`s eighteen or forty-eight? He`s gone for him, it`s as simple as that. I`d like to see the incident again because for me I thought the lad was very lucky he only got a yellow.`
