RUFC - Reserves hit for seven

Barnsley Reserves 7 Rotherham Reserves 0

Rotherham United Reserves were in action this afternoon but not at Don Valley as they should have been. The game, we understand was going to be postponed to give the pitch at Don Valley 'a rest' but Barnsley offered to play the game at their Academy next to Oakwell.

The Millers, who fielded a young side, probably wish the game hadn't gone ahead after they were well and truly beaten seven-nil!

Alastair Taylor scored on ten minutes followed ten minutes later with a goal from Steven Bennett. With three minutes to go of the first half, Justin Yun's long range shot slipped through the Millers' 'keepers hands into the net.

In the opening minutes of the second half Taylor got his second of the game and on sixty-five minutes Jordan Clark gave Hancock no chance as he put the ball into the top corner of the net. With eight minutes to go Danny Rose made it six and in the final minute Clark got his second of the game and the Tykes seventh.
