'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Daley 'football is a crazy game'

Rotherham United loanee, Omar Daley says he is ready to make a step up in football and hopes it will be with the Millers.

Speaking to David Beddows of The Advertiser, the Jamaican born twenty-nine year old, who is on loan from Bradford City, said, 'When I was young I played in the Championship at Preston and Reading but I didn`t really understand the English game then. But now I`m ready to step up and hopefully I can make it with Rotherham because this is a good move for me and a big opportunity.`

Omar, who scored his first goal for the Millers on Tuesday night against Accrington , and who, in my opinion, should have had a second but for the decision of a linesman to raise his off-side flag, joined the Millers at the end of last week with Kevin Ellison going the other way.

'I was playing week in and week out at Bradford,` the midfielder said, 'but football is a crazy game and I`m here now and you can`t explain everything. I think there`s a very good team here with players who are good on the ball. Even on Saturday, when we lost, I could see the team spirit was strong.

'Would I like to stay beyond the end of the season? It`s too early to say yet but if the gaffer likes me and the deal is right, then who knows?`

Ronnie Moore has been saying he wanted a pacey midfielder and it seems this is what he`s got with Daley.

Asked if he would get a permanent contract with the Millers, Moore said, 'Whether he stays with us is down to him. He`s got a lot of games to show us what he can do and it`s a chance for us to have a look at him too. If he carries on the way he has in the last two games then, obviously, you have to be looking at keeping him.`

What do you think of what you have seen of Omar? One to keep?
