RUFC - Shrews boss not happy with postponement

Rotherham United's game with Shrewsbury Town was called off on Saturday at 11.30am, after an original pitch inspection had been called for half an hour earlier was put back, and Shrews boss, Graham Turner was left frustrated by the decision.

'We are disappointed with the decision,' Turner told the Shropshire Star. 'We were just outside Sheffield when we heard of the decision but we don't know the circumstances yet although I imagine the pitch was waterlogged.

'We feel the inspection could have happened earlier and, by all accounts, it could have been called off at 9.00am.

'This is the second time this has happened to us this season and it's a real shame because we were on a run of four wins and, the one thing you want when you are on this sort of run, is to be playing games.'

Mr Turner also thought about the travelling fans, many I am sure would have set off, and said, 'It's a shame for the fans because a lot of them will have had a wasted journey.'
