RUFC - Moore 'nothing but praise'

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore thought his side deserved more out of the game at Torquay this evening.

Striker, Ryan Taylor, got an equaliser on seventy-three minutes for the Millers at Plainmoor after the home side had taken the lead early in the first half.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield after getting a point, Moore said, 'How we`ve not won the game with the number of chances and opportunities we`ve had, I don`t know. I thought for seventy minutes we were by far the better team.

'We got caught from a sloppy bit of marking from a throw and the lads got a little bit of luck from the deflection. Tom Newey made a fantastic save from the line and the lads finished it which was sloppy from us, really. The 'keeper`s been fantastic for them and we`ve hit the bar and the post and I can`t give them nothing but praise.

Talking about the penalty miss, Moore said, 'You always fancy Alfie for a pen. But I think the 'keeper kidded him to be fair. Just before the penalty he stood on the near post and I don`t know whether Alf`s looked at it and thought the 'keeper was being clever. But it was probably just at the right height for the 'keeper but he`s saved them today with some great saves. I think if that had gone in we would have run away with it because they were on the ropes. There was only one side that were really going to win it but we just couldn`t get the break. We had two or three great opportunities in the last three or four minutes and we haven`t taken them.

'It was a very good finish from Ryan Taylor for the goal. We`d had that many chances you thought 'is it going to be our day`. But it was a fantastic finish.

'The there was Alfie`s overhead kick that hit the side of the post and gone wide and the 'keeper`s made a fantastic fingertip save from Ryan when it hit the inside of the post and came back to him. And later on, we had other chances, and it was all about us and it`s a game that we should have won, but, unfortunately, we didn`t get a break today.`
