'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Early team news

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore, has got a full squad to chose from for the game against high fliers Bury tomorrow at Don Valley.

Speaking to MillersPlayer, Moore said, 'Coidy (Danny Coid) had a dead leg but we think he`ll be OK, though it will be a last minute decision with that one.

'Cresswell played in a game on Wednesday and came through it all right, though he is still a little bit stale. But, we`re having to say that it`s only going to be games for him so we`ve got to get him in and get them games under his belt.

'We`ve certainly missed his qualities at the back and it will be nice for him to come back against Bury where he`ll start. I`ve just got the decision then on who I leave out because Fenton and Mullins have done reasonably well in there.`

Asked about the missing Le Fondre on Tuesday night, Moore said, 'There`s been no fall out between us. Alfie has played an awful lot of football and sometimes you need a break. Anyone who is moaning about me leaving him out haven`t got to have tinted glasses and they have to see how he`s played in the last few games. Alfie knows he`s not been as sharp as he could be and we made the decision that we`d give him a break. He`s took it well. He`s not the only player ever to be left out of a team. Rooney`s been left out at Man United and Jack Lester gets left out at Chesterfield. So, I don`t know what the panic is. The problem was he needed a rest.`

I think what surprised a lot of people was that Alfie wasn`t even on the bench on Tuesday and Moore was asked about this saying, 'You have to wonder if Alfie is an impact player who you can bring on from the bench. And if I`m going to take him there and bring him on then that`s a waste of time he may as well start, the whole thing was to have a break, have a rest. He`s going to play against Bury. We just thought that it was time for him to have a break against Bradford and hope it all comes fine for the game on Saturday.`
